Thunder is by AKC/ASCA CH Hidden Lane's Bound For Glory (Bounder - 10th ranked ASCA conformation in 1998) x USASA/AKC/ASCA CH Sandridge's Opal of Skye-Mar, NA, CGC, TDI (Opal). Opal was in the top 5 standings for Agility in 1995 and 1996 before being retired. Thunder is red factored, OFA Excellent, Eyes Cleared Annually, with full dentition and scissors bite, 22 3/4", 60 lbs, moderate coat & bone.
Thunder is a very special dog with tons of attitude, beautiful movement, and brains to share. This boy is truly a "Do It All Aussie". He has a gorgeous topline, well arched and balanced neck, beautiful head, strong, correct front and rear, and movement that is as fluid as water.
Offspring
Thunder was bred to Bon Chance Eclipse of Fire (10 points ASCA, 2 Majors, AKC pointed) producing 1 RTB, 1 BTD, 3 BMDs & 1 RTB in August, 2000. Out of this litter, 1 puppy was placed in an outstanding home as a companion. The remaining offspring are still at BonChance & Riatta. Rumble (black tri male) has already been recognized in the conformation ring taking an ASCA BOSP over stiff competition at 4 months, 2 AKC RWD placements from the puppy classes, and WD/BOW at the BeeTex KC show in April, 2003 for his first 2 points.
Makin, the blue merle male co-owned by Bon Chance & Riatta made his conformation debut in August, 2002 at the Corpus Christi Kennel Club Sanctioned A Match going WD/BOW/Gp. 2 over some very nice competition.
This litter provided an outcross for us to Starstuff and Manchado to support the working instinct of both sire & dam. Thunder has shown strong instinct on sheep, has been on cattle in "real-life" situations, and Sunshine brings a strong working lines to the offspring. Thunder was bred to Skye-Mar's Me-Oh-My "Mimi" (Ch Propwash Manape Ghostrider x Ch Tri-Ivory Georgian Cobalt) in September of 2001. This cross produced 2 BTD with full trim and 1 outstanding RTB with full trim on November 3, 2001. Mimi has produced 1 litter prior to coming to Riatta with multiple pointed and titled offspring, including a daughter who competed at Westminster in February, 2002.
Obedience
On April 19, 1999 Thunder took 2nd in Novice A at the USASA Nationals in Marshall, TX to earn his first AKC obedience leg. He earned his 2nd leg, with another 2nd place, the following Sunday in Beeville, TX and completed his AKC CD with a 4th place and earned a CGC June 6th, 1999 in Pasadena, TX. He completed his ASCA CD earning a leg on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and making the placements all 3 days, in Columbus, TX on September 24-26, 1999.
